Ryan is an ALT for the Japanese Exchange Teaching (JET) Program. He works for the Ishikari Board of Education as a "one-shot ALT." Basically he and another JET ALT at his office must visit over 20 different schools in and around the Sapporo area during the year. He mostly visits high schools but occasionally gets to pay visits to night schools, hospitals, and special schools.
Jane works for Blueberry Preschool in Sapporo. She gets to teach (read: play with) 2-5 year old Japanese kids in the mornings and has English classes for their moms and older students in the afternoons. She's having fun seeing the English language (and sometimes even the Japanese language) develop in her students.
